Abstract
Symbolic model order reduction is to reduce the complexity of a model described with symbolic parameters. It has applications in analog circuit optimization, interconnect and RF structure synthesis, and process-variation-aware characterization and optimization. We describe three techniques, namely symbolic isolation, robust nominal projection, and first-order approximation. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of these techniques.
